I took a photo of an ancient door, in the Shahi Fort in Lahore. The more I looked at it, the more I fell in love with the details in each aspect of it. My brain imagined this door, out of the ruins into a garden of flowers. Hence this painting was created, a fiction of my imagination inspired from the Mughal arts.
This manifests within itself the rich, deeply rooted culture of the city of Lahore, using the traditional carved door, to reveal varying reflections of the city. The intricate patterns of today go hand in hand with the delicate wood engravings of old to portray a standing still of past, present, and future, all weaved together in vibrant geometric designs.
