This is the first painting that I made in "The Jharoka" series.
The Orange Jharoka manifests within itself the rich, deeply rooted culture of the subcontinent, using the Jharokas (a traditional desi balcony) to reveal varying reflections of history. The intricate patterns of today go hand in hand with the delicate wood engravings of old to portray a standing still of past, present, and future, all weaved together in vibrant geometric designs.
Hidden within the painting is another aspect of the culture of subcontinent, an intense love for Chai accompanied by a paratha. Chai, as many may know is a popular drink made with milk, water, tea leaves and whatever spices you want, boil it to perfection. Paratha, a flakey buttery flat bread, a staple in Pakistani house holds.
