This painting is inspired by the delicate arches of the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan. It was Built by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the 17th Century. The mosque’s lifetime entails many turmoils, takeovers and natural disasters. However, it still stands tall as a magnificent piece of Art and history. My depiction of these arches pays homage to the many artisans and architects of the mughal court through a post-modern interpretation of their traditonal designs.
